Using a japanese steam gift card for an account using Euro

So I recently moved from Austria € to Japan ¥.
If I buy and redeem a 1000¥ japanese steam gift card will the 1000¥ automatically convert into €?
But I also heard some people say that japanese steam gift cards only work for accounts using ¥. Now, I can't change the currency because I do not have a credit card or any payment method to complete a purchase. I have to buy physical steam gift cards to buy games.

You cannot use retail gift cards for currency that doesn't match your own currency.

Thank the mostly indian buddies that try to steal from the elderly and other mentally vulnerable people and are fooled by scambaiters like Kitboga et al. for that.

A digital Steam wallet gift card sent from your account to theirs will still work, just not the retail ones.

So then I contacted the Steam Support, but they said that I need a credit card or something like that to purchase a game in Japan so the store and currency would change. You will need a payment method with a billing address in Japan to change your store region country. A credit card is not required for that.

If you moved to Japan to work there, you should also have a bank account in Japan. Take this as a hint and a starting point.
