Strange elevator music playing..?
Good morning fellas! I have a rather strange issue. Whenever my computer goes to sleep with Steam client open, the moment I reactivate it, strange and looping track called "Elevator Music" starts playing, loud enough to freak me out totally when it first happened (thought my PC was haunted for a moment!). I tried going through settings, but according to Steam music player I don't even have a track like that, nor can I find the track from any soundtrack of my recently played games (them being Resident Evil Biohazard ja Eurotruck Simulator). Sometimes player opens up in it's own window and I can pause the track, sometimes only restarting Steam makes it shut up.

Anybody has an idea what's going on here? I find this quite peculiar, though not a serious issue by any means. :D But would sure be nice to know where this elevator music is coming from.

Right click your speaker icon in the Windows system tray and find the "Open Volume mixer" option.
What you see is a panel with volume levels for each app that could potentially play sound.
Leave that up and have the computer go to sleep.
Wake it up and see which app is making noises.

Most likely it's Steam music player which everybody forgets exists until it randomly decides to play a sound file on their PC. You can find it under the View menu at the top of Steam.

It is Steam, like I said sometimes Steam player pops up (sometimes it doesn't), and music stops when I close Steam. I just wonder why it's doing that.

Yeah, I forget Steam had music player. But the weird part is that I don't have a file with that name in my PC. Track is called "elevator music". I thought it was from Resident Evil soundtrack but couldn't find track like that there either.

It's weird. Thanks for the replies!
