steam dumbed-down their search function
I use to be able to search for a certain genre and then view all games within that genre by release date, allowing one to see new titles in the specified genre.

Steam seems to have dumbed-down their search function.


Because I can no longer search by RTS ...that genre no longer appears, not in the sub-genre area either. Also "new and trending" no longer has the option to view all title within a genre by date.


Just wondering if there is a way to search for all new titles within the RTS genre, which is all I am really interested in keeping up on.

Hover over Categories > Genres > Real-Time Strategy
Scroll down to see New & Trending, Top Sellers, etc...

There's also the RTS tag which would take you here:

Scrolling down on that page shows the same New & Trending, Top Sellers, etc... section.

Same here. I used to monitor a handful of genres and just go to "all new releases" and scan through a few pages of games released in the last few days. Now there is seemingly no way to see ALL RELEASES from newest to oldest.

I tried what you said and the 'new and trending' section doesnt include all releases by date, it is only trending games. Sometimes smaller indie titles or retro titles do not appear in this section.

The 'All items' section cannot be sorted by date either and therefore only has the most popular titles which I already have.

It seems like steams new search hides content from small devs.
