Why are you giving someone or a site your API key? You are literally giving read-only access to your account meaning scammers can monitor all your activity. That's like giving a burglar your house keys.

Don't do something if you don't know what you're doing.

what are you doing that requires an API key?
REMOVED SCAM SITE NAME

EDIT: I am going to agree with J4MESOX4D, this smells fishy.

Steps to take NOW:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.

do you see that LINK REMOVED? they dont block sites for the fun of it. I would suggest you take the security of your account more serious, otherwise you will be doing the list I posted and not have anything in the inventory.

If you want to use that site, that is your decision. if you need help using a site, contact that sites support. Steam support will only return your account to you, it will not return scammed/stolen items. bans earned may be permanent regardless of who was in control of the account

they get paid by the site to advertise it, they get special treatment that you wont get.

Nobody but you and the person you are making the trade offer to should be aware of such information. 3rd party sites like these use this an excuse to monitor several aspects of users accounts so they know who to target. They should have absolutely no control over anyone's account. Your credentials have already been phished most likely so make sure you do the steps above and if anyone or site asks to house their API key on your account, it is always a scam.

Content creators will always throw their subscribers and fans under the bus when it comes to making money from scam site pay-offs.

Phishers now outright ask people to put in API keys? That reminds me of the "Irish (or whatever nationality you want to make fun of) virus" jokes: "Please delete your harddrive and send this message to all of your friends, thanks" . DISCLAIMER: DON'T DO IT!

All trades that involve any action outside of Steam, be it through an exchange site or by trading real money (save for the official steam marketplace), is unsupported and likely fraudulent.

Scammers try to scout the gullible and rich to steal their skins.

By giving out an API key you give complete consent to monitor (or even control!) your steam account.

Also, those scam sites phish your credentials by making it look like you login through steam, but in reality, you are giving a bot your username, password and steamguard code. As computer authorizations can be saved, and as bots are VERY quick, one such code is enough to compromise your account.

Elaborate please. get into some actual details on how this is done. in specific the controlling of the steam account.
