Get games off Steam
I have a few games on Steam but absolutely despise everything about it. I had to create some 7 accounts for my first game to even decide I had an account in the first place. I want to get as far away from this piece of crap as possible. I want to get the games I paid for off Steam to play but keep my money. How can I essentially rip Steam off my games so I can play them comfortably without having to put up with Steam's nonsense.

EDIT: I honestly do NOT care that it works for you. I ask with all respect I have that you only reply if you have a solution. I have only recieved 2 relevant replies as of yet.

if you don't like some games, you can ask for refund.

refunds are only valid for games that are played certain hours or less.

you need to contact steam support.
not all games are refundable.

Some games are only playable on Steam, and practically every multiplayer. It is what it is. Go to games that aren't Steam UPlay, Origin, Battlenet, or GOG. regardless of what game more than likely, you'll have to create an account and run an interface to play online.

You can't "remove Steam" from games unless they are DRM-Free. If they have DRM they are forever linked to your Steam account.

You may want to consider the merits of Steam compared to DRM-free games. Immediate updates, achievements, cloud save and screenshot storage. Im sure if you give it a chance you will start to like Steam for those reasons.

Steam's been great so far. cloud save is awesome. no more worries about hardware failures losing everything.

This is all information but in no way is it useful. I want to get Steam off my games. That is all. I have seen no benefit of Steam what-so-ever other than the bugs, crashes, failiures, glitches, I absolutely despise this platform and want to get it off my games so I can play them without having to put up with Steam and it's crapness.

All I want is a "This is how you stop Steam being existent in your life" tutorial. I don't want to refund and rebuy in case I lose data. I want something, even a fancy file modification session to stop Steam being a thing that is on my computer making every game I try to play a tedious test of luck then followed by mass numbers of crashes and failiures if it succeeds in running the game.

Step 1: stop using Steam
Step 2: ignore Steam
Step 3: play any game that isn't on Steam

You don't "strip Steam" from games.

Also the achievents, cloud save, and screenshots mean less than nothiong to me. Even if they did they would be cancelled out immediately by all of Steams flaws. Even when I put trust in Steam and use the customer service they ask "What credit card did you buy this game with?" which is completely irrelevant. Over my entire experience with Steam, I have seen nothing but stupidity and bugs. Get this piece of gaming disgrace off my games!

Then how can I play the games that I already have on Steam? I have Terraria for instance. I'm happy having that game and have paid for it but Steam just gets in the way with it's repeated crashes every 30 minutes

You can pretty much ignore steam entirety until you buy another game.
You can disable the steam overlay by going to your library and then properties.
Finally uncheck "Enable Steam overlay while In-Game".

This might help prevent the crashes too.

If it's crashing every 30 minutes and you're not just being facetious then I'd look into what the hell is wrong with your computer first, rather than blame it on Steam.

Otherwise, suck it up and use Steam or be very careful about what game you do buy.

In order to play a game you own on Steam you need to use Steam. You agreed to that when you registered.

Millions of people use Steam without problems. The chance that something on your PC is messed up is very high. So instead of blaming Steam maybe you should try to get your PC sorted out.

I assume you blame Steam for that too?

You don't own the games - you own the licence to the game from Valve. You agreed to this in the Steam Subscriber Agreement prior to account creation.

It sounds like your PC is complete garbage or you don't know how to maintain it to standard. If it's persistently crashing with Terraria; you should go and buy something more powerful like a microwave oven by the sounds of it.

.... Why would you need to create 7 accounts to 'play games on steam'

Note if you're seeing things like that your OS or computer is likely the problem not Steam.

What else is there to blame it on? I have checked my computer multiple times and it is only Steam that I have problems with at all. All available evidence points to Steam being awful

Maybe there is a less authodox method? Maybe involving the modification or deletion of files to prevent Steam every running when I run the game so I have the game but not the Steam?

Also I ask that non-constructive comments such as:
"Suck it up", "Learn to like it" or "You can't" not be posted as it poses no help what-so-ever. I want this done and I will not rest until it is. Simple. And yes I do absolutely despise Steam and the majority of these gaming platforms in general. You should go to the game's website and get it. It makes far more sense and you don't have to put up with all this crap that poses no use to me. I created this account for the sole reason of getting a game. I had no idea it would be this piece of computing disgrace and so want it gone from my computer entirely.
