How do I connect my PS3 controller to my PC/laptop?

I followed every tutorial online for how to connect my PS3 controller onto my PC, but none of them worked. How do I connect my PS3 controller to my PC?

I would like to be able to connect my PS3 controller to my PC because I want to play some games that require a PS3 controller.

No games require a PS3 controller.

PS3 controller is not natively supported on PC.

Motionjoy contains spyware. I used to use it, but I don't use it anymore. The main reason I need to reinstall the proper software for connecting my PS3 controller to my PC was because I had to reinstall my Windows 7 OS recently because my computer's harddrive crashed. And I needed to buy a new harddrive, and reinstall Windows. So I need to find the proper software and instructions for connecting my PS3 controller to my PC.

I've checked all of the Youtube videos on "how to connect PS3 controller to PC without Motionjoy,", and none of the instructions given in those Youtube videos work. This baffles me.

If anyone here has a Youtube video on how I can connect my PS3 controller to my PC without Motionjoy on Windows 7, that would be greatly appreciated.
