Terraria, mods/plugins

So iv'e been enjoying terraria for a while now, and i have recently joined a few servers, which have plugins commands like; /summon /item and things like that, can somone show me or tell me how to get them please :D

well, I think you must have a server to apply plugins but if you want to mod your terraria you can do that in singleplayer. Just go on google and make/buy a server or find some mods to play in singleplayer

So if i get mods, can i still play with my friends or will i just have to play solo because that is my big worry i like to play with friends

all in all the game is much better without any mods but having them shouldant affect yourt online player status as long as people who dont have the mod dont play on your world. This is because their device hasnt yet obtained the data needed to run the mod.

I'd reccomend owning a Tshock server
Fair warning: it's complicated and you can't use steam hosting for it, so either use hamachi or Evolve or some other method.
