While in steam games I can't move unless holding down alt.

For whatever reason, the games I play exclusively on steam are having troubles coping with me remotely inputing commands. Other games don't have the issue. Whenever I play warframe, for example, I can move with the arrow keys, but ESDF (what I prefer to use over wasd) makes my character move so slow it's laughable. We're talking inches every few seconds. It'll make my character move in the direction of the button, but so slowly it's unplayable.

I figured out through fiddling that if I hold down alt my ESDF movement keys work just as well as the arrow movement keys -- normal. I can't seem to figure out why this is, though, and spent the rest of this play session with a piece of paper in my alt key to stick it down. I'd rather avoid this in the future :P

Anyone have any idea on why this may be? I couldn't find things in the settings, but I'm not very steam savvy. Worth noting I tried three different keyboards, so it's definitely a client-side issue.

Its a 3rd party program preventing key strokes. not sure why. but does it in siege and arma 3 for me. trying to hunt it down.

is about in-game mouse-lag, it's another old thread with brand new replies. Perhaps one of 2 solutions provided in the lasts comments might direct you to the solution you need. Particulary the one about uninstalling the window snap tool "Magnet" since you already seem to know your issue is with a 3rd party program.
