Unlimited Family Sharing Users (Steam Client Console Exploit)
So I found a Steam client console exploit the other day by looking through all of the available Steam client console commands. There is one command called "library_sharing_account_max" and it allows you to change the default Family Sharing value (5) to anything you want. If you want to test it out, here is how:

1. If you don't already have a shortcut for Steam on your desktop make one and also make sure Steam is completely closed by right clicking the icon in the bottom right of the taskbar and closing it.

2. Right click on your Steam shortcut on your desktop, click properties and add "-dev -console" (WITHOUT QUOTES) at the end of the target box. It should now look something like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -dev -console

3. Now open Steam with the desktop shortcut, you will now have a console menu next to your username at the top of your screen. Click that and type "library_sharing_account_max 999999999" (WITHOUT QUOTES).

4 Open up Steam, Settings, Family tab. It now says you can share with 999999999 other users :D

Forgot to add, I only have 4 friends in the whole wide world :( so I haven't been able to test myself whether this actually changes the value or if it is just a visual change that has no affect. Also you will have to retype the command every time you start Steam as it returns to default after closing Steam :(

Has anyone tried this yet?

Just a question: Do you think it's a good idea to abuse exploits?

If they let you use it, then yes, otherwise probably not, but I can't see anyone getting banned for this if that is what you are suggesting.

It doesn't really matter actually way it works is that just tracks the number of varying machines and accounts you can family share with. The restriction remains that only the one being actively shared with has access to the library.
doesnt work tho :(

Ehh, while i understand your point this is really not a big deal.
This thread has been active since 2015 and this "exploit" only makes Family Share LESS usuable.
Think about it, even if you share with say, 30 people, only ONE can use the library at any point.
So the only thing you do by adding more people to it then the intial 5 is to significantly lower the chances of the individual user to ever be able to use the shared library.

So whats the point? Its an exploit that makes the Family Share option WORSE.

Also, i doubt that there are many users who want to share with more then the 5 standard users.

Imagine thinking there is active moderation on this forum. Lots of old threads break the forum rules, they were just never reported.

Until now.

Imagine thinking a console command that a user has access to is "hacking" or exploiting, . Some of you people i swear.
