Items w/ marketplace lock won't convert into gems / unable to access gem bags
Instead of turning into gems w/ a 9/23 sale date, they instead stay as regular items, w/ the 9/23 date.

Purpose of this change... is?

Not too keen on loading hundreds of pages of inventory unless there's some compelling reason for this?

Same issue here. I hope it's just a bug?

well, it's getting worse for me

i'm unable to open/access 710 bags of gems now

i've tried IE, firefox, chrome, opera, and the steam client (also tried resetting steam obviously)

Yup, notably the issue has gone worse than before.

It was only bugging on the client side for a month; and since earlier today (or possibly yesterday) the issue seems to be happening outside the client too.

It doesn't affect packing gems amazingly enough; only unpacking and the actual conversion process.

I guess your items did not yet pass the tradeable/marketable date? I checked whether this is a global problem, but I was able to convert a tradeable/marketable item into gems, whereas none of the non-tradeable/marketable was convertible. Seems like Steam changed the properties of items... which quite sucks.

I changed inventory to public, the gem bags in question are tradeable:

I see... possibly only newer items (with a short life time) are affected by it? I tested with an old, single item. I still hope it's just a bug and not a change in the gem system.

Yup, my Trine 3 card converted fine too.

EDIT: As well as a 6 day old card from Saints Row: Gat out of Hell; meaning since OP's cards are tradable, they have to be more than 7 days old or card drops.

Simply put, bought cards; or items as drops less than 6 days ago. Otherwise the connection is likely elsewhere.

Bought a new card, could craft it. It became a non-tradable gem pile.

The same one as what OP had.

i was able to manipulate those bags of gems fine until about 5 or 6 hrs ago, when I combined them with the 'new' ones that became available on the 17th.. i guess that may have impacted it..

I *think* I can still list them on market, but don't want to... can also trade them... just not unpack

Well, gem bags cannot be opened. That's a clear bug right now.

I was more so wondering about the card conversion stuff.

I see, I can convert backgrounds into gems, trading cards into gems; Market restricted trading cards into gems; HOWEVER I cannot convert Market restricted backgrounds into gems.

EDIT: Same applies to Market restricted emoticons; those that aren't restricted work fine.

EDIT 2: Interesting, some cards don't work after all.
I can't convert my TF2 Engineer card, while I could convert the Surgeon Fish card.
