Steam is NOT picking up my mic - DESPERATE!
Hello!

I've been struggling lately with getting my mic to work in-game on any steam games. It works flawlessly in other applications such as Skype, OBS, FL Studio etc. But any game in steam that I've tried (mainly ARK: Survival Evolved and CS:GO) just will not, no matter what I seem to do, pick my mic up. I have pretty high-end equipment and trust me, I have checked the settings in windows and everything is as it should there in terms of Default Device and all that.

Does anybody have any idea what I can try here? (PLEASE?) I will type out some information about my system below if you want more info on that:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OS: Windows 8 64bit
Soundcard: PreSonus Audiobox 44VSL
Mic: Rhode NT1-A (not that it really matters)

Using "Virtual Audio Cables" (or VAC in short) to force my mic into mono instead of stereo, Line 1 from VAC is the default device in windows and everything is maxed out in volume there.

Line 1 from VAC is confirmed selected audio device in steam, but it still doesn't pick up any audio (neither in the steam app or in-game).

Not sure what other info you'd need, just ask if something is missing. Any help would be so very appreciated... :)
