Report a translation problem
One of the solutions is to force the driver installation to make think its a authentic MS one.
This is for Win 7, but guess you can figure out for Win 10 too.
Open Device Manager, right-click the device and select "Update Driver Software..."
In the wizard that opens, select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Uncheck "Show compatible hardware"
Select Microsoft in the Manufacturer pane
In the right pane, you should see "Xbox 360 Controller For Windows"
Proceed with the driver installation.
Or take it back to shop and add a few dollars more for the authentic one.
I tried doing your method and it said that one of the installers for it could not perform the installation at this time.
