XBOX 360 Gamestop Controller won't Work.
I just got a Wired 360 controller from a local game store, and I was very happy to hear that the controller would be a plug and play.

...Or so I thought, until I actually tried to use it. It seems like, for whatever reason, my PC refuses to install the correct drivers for this controller. Plugging it in results in a couple of minutes of stalling, followed by a "Driver Error" message. Trying to force an update gets me a similar message.

According to the back, this is a BB-070 Gamestop controller. I'm using Windows 10. anyone wanna help?

Because it's basically a knockoff, just a bit better made as the chinabrands.

One of the solutions is to force the driver installation to make think its a authentic MS one.

This is for Win 7, but guess you can figure out for Win 10 too.

Open Device Manager, right-click the device and select "Update Driver Software..."
In the wizard that opens, select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Uncheck "Show compatible hardware"
Select Microsoft in the Manufacturer pane
In the right pane, you should see "Xbox 360 Controller For Windows"
Proceed with the driver installation.

Or take it back to shop and add a few dollars more for the authentic one.

Yeaaah, I may have to do that.
I tried doing your method and it said that one of the installers for it could not perform the installation at this time.

Thanks for trying to help anyway!
