Can I use market money for games?
I want to sell a few items from my cs go inventory for money to buy games but from past experience I noticed when I sold my items and I got the money I couldn't buy games. Am I able to buy games? I haven't tested it out yet.

Market sales put the money into your wallet, which you can use for anything on Steam.

Really? I don't want to risk selling an expensive item just to find out I can't buy a game with it.

Don't be paranoid. Of course you can buy Steam games with Steam wallet.

Market uses Steam wallet. It's real money there, not gold coins, bottlecaps, zenis, gallian ducats, septims, orens or whatever fictional currency.

I regularly make booster packs for expensive tradings cards and use the money for buying games. Selling some virtual guns is not really different as long is a normal market listing inside Steam.

Not exactly. It's not like you can buy groceries with your Steam wallet. But you can buy games on the platform, yes

I'm sure the "there" part refers to the Steam -platform. :)

Guess is called Steam wallet cause it meant to be used inside Steam. But yes, you can't transfer it outside of the platform.

But there are enough amazing games here to spend it on them anyways.

Like I said from EXPERIENCE I have had times where it has not work probably because I didn't put my social security yet but I put it in 2 months ago.

That's for Steam Community Market.

It shouldn't affect your Steam Wallet's behavior on the Steam Store.

What's the error you're seeing?

An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact Steam Support.

That only happens when you attempt to gift something; but not when you buy something for yourself? Odd.

The Steam Support -article regarding this:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3382-QYOD-8584

The Big Picture Mode (ALT+ENTER) may also work; or attempt on another web-browser, but no promises there.
