Why do Steam's servers keep going down?

This is already becoming everyday, I think it obsolete existing servers to the user load.

i've experienced not being able to connect to steam already months ago. It hasn't changed since then. Normally what i tried was either to stop my internet from using a proxy server(for some reason it keeps jumping back) or i just waited about 30mins before trying to connect again to steam client. has worked for me ever since. just be patient :), but i suggest to not go in offline mode if you want to play online games, just wait a while.

Same here.
The account is a old one, so it might not be hosted on the same servers as the newer ones.
I've tried it before, where old account was unable to login, and new accounts had no problem at all.

the steam client is(atleast for me) not the only thing that doesn't work for me. I can't either get into support steam. Same for everyone else aswell?
