Steam doesn't install game .exe

So i have been having this problem lately where some of the games on steam, of which worked at some point or another, doesn't work anymore. I mainly get unknown errors or executable missing. To backtrack I reformatted to win 10 (that alone has been been a pain in my ass in playing some games). I did the normal fixes that you should do, reinstall everything steam related, delete the appcache folder and what not. Now i did notice one thing. I can do a verify all day and ill get the same result so i looked into the folders off all the games that wont lunch for one reason or another. There isn't an .exe for ANY of them. Out of curiosity I reinstalled the game and had it make a shortcut.... it makes a web short cut that doesn't connect to anything.

Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

That is likely your antivirus or windows defender. A-lot of them are programmed to find executable files and some may mistake your games for viruses.

This, or trying to run games for 64-bit OS on a 32-bit OS.

EDIT: The physical file isn't there. AV it is!

I excluded steam from my AV and reinstalled the game and it still goes not have the .exe

So, which game is it? More details about your specs?

there are two games of note currently, Evolve and Ark. I'm running on win 10 32 bit
amd 8350 eight core
8GB ram
Radeon R9 290

I ran these games with out any problem before 10

And there's your issue.

Neither of those games support 32-bit OS.

I find that hard to believe, at least on a 32-bit OS.

Minimum requirements say 64-bit only.

Considering you have 8 GB of RAM, you probably DID have a 64-bit OS before. 32-bit OS supports only up to 3.2GB of RAM anyway.

damn it, ill guess ill reformat to 64, thank you. i didn't catch that before. I was running 64 bit at one point
