Custom artwork won't set
So it started to happen last night when suddenly after the steam client update (the one that now shows game file size in description among other things) I could no longer set custom art for the games in my library. Games with existing arts are fine but new ones' can't be changed. It does not respond at all. However, the when going into game description section, setting background and profile art for that game (in game description section) can be done w/o any problem. The issue again is only with the image on thumbnail view (where you see all the games, but NOT collection view).
Any clue why this is happening? First time ever happened to me and I am clueless.

I'm not familar withh how you're doing this, I simply right click the Artwork of the game and set custom Artwork? Its working fine just tested it.

Yeah I do the same way as well. Yesterday it happened to me all of a sudden and now I can't set custom art for the thumbnail of a game in thumbnail mode. Clicking a game and on it's description page I can set artwork just fine. Could it be a technical glitch is what I am trying to figure out.

I'm having the same issue here. When i click the option to set custom art nothing happens. But I can change logo and background in the games page normally.

The only change i can think of recently is that I upgraded to Windows 11.

Same thing happening to me. I'm also running windows 11 but it's worked with Windows 11 for a month or two now. Just stopped working within the last week.

It must have been something in a beta release. I was signed up for beta releases in Steam. I turned that off and went back to no beta participation, relaunched Steam and it worked again.

I had the same problem and it was fixed by opting out of the Steam Beta.

Just tested it. Working fine for me with the new steam update.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
