[SOLVED] Games Crashing on Startup/Launch
Two of my games are now crashing almost immediately after launching, Ark: Survival Evolved and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017). They both have worked perfectly fine in the past, no issue. Now, when I hit play on either of the games, they crash. Only those two games though, first Ark, then BF2 about a week later. Ark started about 2 weeks ago after working just fine for the months I've played. BF2 started about 3-4 days ago after working just fine for about a week since I got it. Ark crashes once I load into the menu. I get about 5-10 seconds of the menu music and once I move my mouse or click, it crashes. BF2 crashes almost instantly. No loading screen or sound. Sometimes, it doesn't even open and stays minimized in the taskbar, and when I click on it, it just shuts down. I have completely uninstalled steam and both the games numerous times, even origin for BF2. I have verified/repaired both game files, completely deleted every trace of the games and both launchers from my registry. Tried different compatibility modes, different launch options, different resolutions, windowed mode, different graphic settings, waited for both a graphics card update and a game update. Scoured a bunch of forums, and no solution has seemed to help me. My friend's Ark game did the same thing for a little bit, but eventually fixed itself. We're not quite sure what did, and I've done everything he told me he did and nothing has worked. Got in contact with both Wildcard and EA, but have yet to hear back from Wildcard after a while and EA ended our chat before I even had a solution. Starting to get pretty annoyed.

SOLVED -

This took me way too long to figure out such a simple answer. And of course I find it shortly after making a post...

Ran a clean boot on my PC where I disabled every start program and app. Started up the games just fine from there. So, I came to the conclusion there was a conflicting program. Enabled a couple, and found out it was Discord causing the issue. I completely deleted Discord and reinstalled it. Still had the same crashing issues after the reinstall when either of the games were open with Discord open. Did some fiddling around, and turned on and back off the Discord overlay for those games. After that, they launched with no crashing. BF2 had a weird bug where it would black screen after my character died and reappear after a few seconds, but that was fixed with simply changing the game from fullscreen to borderless.
