SLOW DOWNLOADS PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I am getting speeds of 152kbs or lower when downloading on steam, my line is a 20mb and when I download other games from battlenet or league of legends I get speeds of over 2.5mbs!
Ive tried everything like restarting routers and pc and changing download server/region and it hasn't helped.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Try several different download regions. Some close by, some far away.

Does this work cause i have tried a few and it makes no difference, they get slow after a small while. Also why are my other games downloading so fast and steam all of sudden just stopped working????
Your ISP could be throttling your downloads. Confirm your speed over here if you don't mind:

7. 70mbps, they arnt throttling cause I can do other downloads not related to steam at over 2.5mbps.
Your ISP may throttle Steam specifically. 7.7 megabits per second is about 910 kilobytes per second, so while still 152 kilobytes is still slow I wouldn't expect to be getting 2.5 megabytes per second. Other than changing download region, try bypassing your router and connecting directly to the modem via ethernet. Close any programs in the background which may be using your Internet.

yes, my usual speed for steam is 950kbps which is fine for me, i am connected via ethernet cable and ive tried all the region and its not helping. I read something about required ports but im not sure how to check those.
If the required ports weren't available to Steam, you would most likely just not be able to connect at all. I don't think ports are likely to be the culprit, but you would want to create a rule in your firewall to allow Steam traffic on those ports, and forward the ports on your router, if needed.

Ok well that obviously isnt the problem, is there anything else i can do, i mean other people are having this problem these past few days and no one knows what to do?
Steam's servers could be busy. I haven't noticed them being terribly slow myself. All I can suggest is keep trying different download regions, or try downloading at off-peak hours.
