Got Scammed :(
Hi guys,
I basically was acting very stupid as I am not really good with computers. This guy through the internet convinced me to let him remote control my mouse to help me download an anti hacking software to join an esl server. When he was about to turn off my firewall, I stopped him from doing anything else. I thought it was okay until I saw 900 dollars of items were gone an traded to a guy with a level 0 steam account. I knew I had email confirmation on so I was confused. I went to go check and it turns out the hacker turned off email confirmation and just took all my items. Their is a lot of proof that my account was hijacked and the trade offers are clearly there as well as the emails saying he disabled email confirmation. Even if I did not disable steam email confirmation, do I still not get my items back. I am currently under a lot of stress right now so sorry if I sound weird.

Thanks,
Riko

Thanks for the links, but I can still get on my steam account and what not. I changed my password now, but he got on my account for a short amount of time and was able to send trade offers without me knowing

Ok. Im sorry you were scammed, but remote hacking a mouse? 900 dollars worth of gear, and the lack of savvy. Are you sure you arent fabricating something here? Not being that guy but i call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Id make a ticket to steam support over items lost, but anything scammed or traded wont return the product, and bumping is not recommended to keep threads alive. Even if your story is 100% accurate, there is nothing that can be done about it. What is it you need?

You should scan your computer for any malware in case he tries to get on again

I know it sounds stupid, but I got tricked really bad. He told me he could download an anti hack thing for esl servers and i let him do it for a short amount of time. Little did I know he was sending trade offers somehow. Since email confirmation was on just till that moment when the hacker shut it off, do I still not get my items back? ty

I'm think the OP means allowing someone to control his/her computer by a computer program. That is real. I let my friend look into my laptop, when I had a mic software issue, from his computer . Edit: The program used in my situation was TeamViewer.

Even if so, that requires a backdoor, which can only be done by downloading a program personally, or by remote control, through an existing program. One cant "control someones computer" via 3rd party without a backdoor. And dont give the OP any ideas to run to. I know what OP wrote, it just makes no sense. And the account looks heavily F2P, being that i doubt he had 4 knives and ak skins. Im trusting my gut on this one.
