When you go to your steam inventory and click on a item, near the green "Sell" button it should display that items current highest selling price in the market.
I have same problem as OP, as in the current highest selling price does not show up.
EDIT: Also the "View in community market" button has also disappeared.
dumb question maybe, but is your item tradeable? Some new items (after creating badges) you have to wait 7 days, till you can offer it on the market. In this time the price on the market isn't shown on your item.
Yes, the items are tradable. The Sell button appears, the problem is that the items highest selling price does not appear.
The problem is weird because sometimes the prices are displaying properly, but most of the time there is problem. Maybe once for every 10 minutes it appears well for some short period of time.
Also maybe valve will see that server settings too aggressive and lifted limits
Which is what somewhat makes me doubt this is intentional behavior.
This problem is related with the stuff mentioned in the announcement in the link above. Basically for anybody who do a lot of selling in the community market, they will also send lots of request for price to steam server. And now that Steam limit the amount of request that can be send, it would stop the user from getting market price data after they exceed the request limit.
Which is why most users won't be having any trouble with this.
