300KB/s on a 75Mb/s connection?
I just bought Fallout 4 and I'm trying to download it, but thanks to my download speed, it's going to take around 2 days to download. I have a 75Mb/s connection, which I've tested to make sure. I've checked which download server I'm using, it's the Phoenix, AZ one and I live in Las Vegas, NV. There is no download cap but I am still only maxing out at 300KB/s. This seems awfully slow and I'd like to know how to fix it, if possible. It seems pretty ridiculous to have to download a game for 2 days straight.

I do not know why you get notifications. Perhaps you somehow subscribed to "All Discussions". I'm not sure. :/

This happens to many users, try restarting Steam first. If you have same problem, resort to boosting your connection by closing all not wanted apps that suck internet. Then try resetting your PC if it continues to delay time needed to download. If the issue is STILL not resolved, resort to resetting your conection box provided my your internet service. Happy gaming!

Well, I know restarting Steam doesn't work since I had to restart it when I was seeing if the Los Angeles server would be better for me than the Phoenix one. I don't have any other apps using an internet connection other than Opera, which I'm using right now to post to the forums. I guess I'll reset my PC and router next. :/ Thanks for the tips, hopefully something works.

Same for me. Steam has problems with servers I think. For weeks I am maxing out at 2mb/s. When I download games from origin or uplay maxing out at 6-7 mb/s.

Alrighty, good luck to you. If all else fails, contact valve support.

I juste reset my router. Started download and it peaked at 968KB/s, I was hopeful, then it started to decline and went back to around 300KB/s.

So, I'm taking a guess here that either my ISP, which is Cox, is throttling my speed, there have been rumors they do this, or there is a problem with Steam servers. :/ either way, it's disappointing.

When this happened to me a year back, I discovered there was a rip in the land-line. You best hope that a wire was not torn somewhere underground, because it took me three weeks to get that whole issue solved... @_@

I'm not sure this is the case, since my speed tests have my download at 75mb/s and my uploads at 50mb/s. I don't have connection issues other than Steam and YouTube. And researching the YouTube issues are where I learned of the rumors of Cox throttling streaming videos. They apparently punish us for watching streaming videos instead of paying for their terrible cable service. ;)

Dont you have an origin account or uplay or anyother app to test your speed?
