Paypal charged me, Money not in Steam Wallet!
So yesterday i charged $113.58 into my steam wallet to purchase some games. I got some order error on steam but Paypal charged me and confirmed me money went through and that steam received it. This is highly unacceptable and frustrating. I sent a Steam Ticket but still no response. I was thinking about opening a paypal dispute but i heard steam just instabans your whole account if you even try to do that.. Please help.

The confirmation is that PayPal tried to send the money, not that Valve received it. PayPal has a hold on your money, it never left your account. Contact PayPal and ask when the hold will be released.

Lol? i already contacted paypal and they confirmed money went through. IF you take a look at the screenshot the payment says "completed" which means it did. Also the money was already debited on my credit card. If you have any experience using paypal you would know that what youre saying is just ridiculous.

Your money never left your account. Wait for the hold to be released.

Im sorry, but can you not read? As i said, PAYPAL CONFIRMED ME MONEY WAS SENT AND RECIEVED BY STEAM. Maybe caps will help who knows.

I can read just fine. Yelling will not change what happened, nor will it make the hold go away any faster.

some order error on steam

Steam did not collect your money. Steam does not have your money. PayPal has your money. There is a pre-authorization hold on your money, enacted by PayPal.

Caps lock is more of an nusiance...

Check here
https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/

Does it say pending or failed?

If it failed, then read what habitualaction wrote in the first comment.

The transaction isnt even visible on there, i alreeady posted a screenshot of that.

The transaction isn't visible because it did not complete. Go to the link below:
https://help.steampowered.com/

And find your transaction.

Find my transaction where? Can you please stop posting on my thread? You are not being very helpful. As a paypal user of over 8 years i think i have a pretty good grasp on how they work. Theres no reason for they to hold my money since that amount is insignificant for the amounts i usually pay and recieve through paypal. I use paypal every single day as a business owner. I already told you I phoned paypal and they said payment went through. Also I already said i sent a ticket to steam so your post isnt useful at all sir

Click "A Purchase". It will be below a list of recently played games. It will list every purchase you have made on Steam, including failed ones.

How many times do I have to tell you I already went in there and my order isnt there?

You stated you went to:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/

And posted a screenshot of it not being there. That's not what I'm referring to.

If you click "A purchase", it will show all your purchases on Steam. If there is nothing there, the purchase did not happen and Steam does not have your money.

That's not how financial institutions work.

  • You request a purchase from a vendor, in this case Valve.
  • Valve contacts PayPal and asks them for the money.
  • You authorize PayPal to give Valve the money.
  • PayPal sets the money aside for Valve to collect, and the money disappears from your balance. This is a pre-authorization hold. It happens on every transaction.
  • PayPal notifies Valve that the money is available to collect.
  • Valve credits you the appropriate Steam wallet or product.
  • At some point down the road, maybe later that day, maybe later that week, Valve collects the money.

The problem is occurring between when Valve asks for the money, and when it collects the money. Until Valve gets the money, you won't get your Steam wallet funds.

If Valve goes too long without collecting the held money, the money will return to your balance.

Lmao this is the most ridiculous thing i have read in quite some time. Maybe you are still not reading the part where i contacted paypal and they said they payment got through and everything should be fine? Whats so hard to understand?

The PayPal employee was wrong.
