Paypal in South Africa
Since, steam announced that they are moving RAND (South African Currency) towards steam, I cannot add funds or purchase games with Paypal. I thought it was only until the currency was switched, but there is no option for paypal. Can someone else tell me if it will ever be added or something. Please respond quickly.

No paypal? No issues, There's plenty of ways for me to get games without having to pay steam with paypal. :)

@faux_grey: ok, that's cool. I just don't want you guys to have false hope. It's unlikely for paypal to return. (or at least until paypal support our currencies)

It a shame that it got taking off. I don't like using the credit card because of the security risk. I not sure how secure steam security is. I rather use paypal instead of credit cards.

Why Steam? My friend's in SA and her only option is using paypal, and now she can't even use it anymore to buy or anything!

Either way paypal must then allow other currency to be used and not just dollar & euro!

Ya, I'm never buying a key directly on steam again.

Same issue. Asked on support but got a canned response saying I should use Steam Wallet instead. They are not the same thing.

Ironically enough, despite paypal only being in a partnership with FNB, which frankly, makes using paypal in SA quite bloody terrible (because FNB isn't all that sharp when it comes to paypal services), the co-founder of Paypal is freaking South-African.

Paypal was my only way to buy games on steam, and well since the support for paypal is out of my hands in SA, and since steam dropped support for paypal just because of regions, I shall drop the support I had for steam all together.

One of the worst ways to screw over your consumer base. Rand is weak, and quite frankly useless to have, I prefer US dollar and Euro over Rand any day of the week. Purchased most of my games using my US paypal account, before this crappy change. Now, well now I won't and can't buy games on steam anymore, thanks for screwing yet another thing up steam.

Thanks a bunch....
