Purchase has not been completed - but my funds are gone
I purchased The Orange Box and Garrys Mod via Steam in the app using PayPal - and I got the error message "Purchase has not been completed - The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method" but when I go to check my bank account there has been a charge for these two products and on PayPal's side it IS showing. Just Steam doesn't give me the games.

I have opened a dispute on PayPal for non-receipt of the products.

Any suggestions/help? I have opened a support ticket and emailed them but as I saw it takes a LONG time to respond.

PayPal have the funds on hold and will return it to you within a few business days.

Opening a dispute was unnecessary. :DEALWITHIT:

Dispute unnecessary when 20 euro's are gone from your bank account and you have none of those products?

Did you even try to find out what happened? No. You just jump straight to the very last resort.

Yes, I tried to find out what happened and haven't come across anything. My money is gone and the payment has been done- I have not received anything.

Did you check your transactions here on Steam? What does those say?

Those two products are just marked as "Failed" each time I go to Support. No reason or anything else.

And the system asks me what is it I need support with and shows me those games as a topic, yet I do not have those products. I have not received them but the payment has already been made.

That means that your payment provider put the money on hold and will release it back to you within a few business days.

This is common practice with online payments.

Just to be certain you and I are on the same page, if I check the PayPal transaction it says "Payment To WWW.Steampowered.com" complete and the amount I was paying for. The bank account is -20.98 E (the sum) and have received nothing.

It was withdrawn directly from my bank account, are you saying that I should just wait until morning to get those products?

You wait until the money have returned to your bank account. Could take up to 10 business days.

The money would not return if I didn't open a claim - how will I have gotten back the money if I didn't say anything that the transaction failed or I was charged for something I have never gotten.

The 'last resort' comment was pointless because opening a dispute is the only way I get my money back;

Once again: When you make a transaction from your bank account, your bank puts the money on hold while it waits for a confirmation. When no confirmation come (transaction failed) the money is automatically returned to the bank account. This whole process could take up to 10 business days.

Don't believe me? Go ask your bank.

When it says 'Failed' on Steam, you always 'get your money' back within a week or so.

Even if you don't intervene—because your money actually hasn't gone anywhere.

You successfully sent the money, but they failed to take it. :DEALWITHIT:

That makes sense and calms me. Thanks Hextravert
