Steam Achievements not unlocking

So I'm currently playing Fallout 4 and I've passed a few stages where I've supposedly unlocked some achievements but nothing is showing for it, similar for an earlier game I played today in which no achievements are unlocking. I have only just noticed this today. Could someone help me in understanding why this is happening and how I may fix it?

How do I go about seeing what mode I'm in?

If you open the Steam client, and you can see the store or community or anything other than a gray screen telling you that you are offline, you are online.

Oh, then yeah. I'm always online. I don't use the offline mode whatsoever.

There have been instances with other games where achievements will not trigger when they are supposed to, as Fallout 4 is a new game it may be an issue with the game itself.

I thought so, too. But given the amount of people playing it, everyone seems to be unlocking them just fine and I've yet to see a topic about this issue on that forum. It's why I believe it's something on my end because I noticed earlier that playing a different game, the time I played it for, certain achievements that should of been unlocking - didn't.

I haven't unlocked a single achievement, and I reckon I should've at least gotten "War never Changes"

I just figured it out, you have to quit Steam, I even rebooted my computer. Achievements are working now.

Ran into the same problem - well.. Kinda.. My game doesn't even show that there are any achievement. Can't see a list of them - let alone earn any.
When clicking to see achievement for Fallout 4; it's simply empty. Nothing is listed..

Weird, I had the exact same problem, and it worked after quitting Steam, reboot, then I reloaded a couple of saves. Did you try to "earn" them again?

Yup - tried making a new character, which should trigger the very first achievement fairly quickly.
Didn't do any good :(

My achievements are not unlocking either, don't know if anyone here has had any luck with that. Even the locked achievements won't show up for me. Rebooting the computer does not work, restarting Steam does not work, right now I'm reinstalling the game though I doubt it does any good.

Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed right now. A waste of time.

I have the same problem. On my profile when I click on achievement progress for the game it just shows a blank screen. I am about 4 hours in and have yet to get a single achievement, yet when viewing global achievements it seems 90%+ have earned the first achievement.

To make things worse I even stumbled across a big spoiler while looking for a solution :(. Not sure what to do now as I dont want to get too far in and miss a load of achievements, its put me off playing the game a bit especially with the story spoiled as well.

I happened to notice you have unlocked achievements - how did you manage to solve the problem?
