Is your ATM card a DEBIT card?
Seems like you can't do international purchases on that card; you need to use one which supports that or get it activated on yours.
thank u for the information. i used icici international debit card it worked. but how should i activate international purchase in my present canara debit card.can i do it in my present debit card ?? have you done it ??
No, I haven't done it on my Canara Bank debit card yet . I tried using my sister's HDFC card but it also got rejected. However, she immediately got a call from the customer service that there was an attempt to make an international transaction, and whether she'd like to activate it on her card. She said yes, and it got activated within 10 minutes.
I think just calling the customer service should do it. I'll try doing that and then update the progress here.
thanks dude, will try calling customer care.plz tell me if there is any progress
I have been using the Canara Bank card for international transactions and can confirm that even that stopped working after the update. I have raised the issue with the Bank several times in the last few months and had various people check my card permissions ... all confirm that it is cleared for international transactions, but I still get the same error message. My advice is to stop using the Canara Bank debit card. More trouble than it's worth.
Actually RBI uses a double step verification for cards(Have you seen on flipkart or amazon, that after you buy somrthing you are redirected to a page asking for visa password). Steam has no idea what this is so the card does not approve it.
