Download Speeds inconsistent

I just did a internet speed test and got 238.76 Mbps. On Steam, normally when i start the download i get around 20mb/s but then it drops to like 30kb and doesn't rise above 100kb. Does anyone know a possible reason for this, and possibly a fix?

SO BAD DOWNLOAD SPEED!?!?!!!?!? HOLY SHİT i never have seen that Hopefully you get fast a fix Because this is not good

It just went below KB and into Bytes :|

You can try making sure that your downloading settings are set up correctly. Open steam then in the steam window press "steam" at the top left corner then settings, then downloads, make sure limit bandwidth to is set to no limit.

If you are using Windows 10 you can right click your taskbar open Task manager and see your network usage to rule out anything interfering.

All that's done, like i said, i would be getting 20 up wards to 25 Mbps and then it drops very quick to maybe 1 Mbps and then it goes down in the KB

hey man, im having the same issue. i just upgraded my rig and have to reinstall my steam games. but where ide normally download at a very high rate normally, i am not now and its going down into KB/s my only theory to this is the halloween sale is putting strain on download servers? i hope it gets fixed soon

That might be a factor, i upgraded to windows 10 2 days ago and reset my computer completely deleting everything and i've been trying to reinstall the games back and it's just such a pain.
