Then they will scam you out of your account by pretending to need to your login data to "verify" your account.
Report all involved Steam accounts for trying to scam you with the REPORT button on their profile, then block them and move on with your life.
Steam will NEVER contact you in any such form, you get a red ! in the upper corner of your Steam client if they want something from you. Valve does not use Discord.
Also, false reports do NOTHING, Steam has all the logs and can easily see if a report was false.
So you dont have to worry about anything, they just try to make you panic so you fall for the scam.
You are not "reported" or "banned" in any way.
Otherwise if you dont have their profile I wouldnt worry about it. Just know for next time that you can report someone.
You can't get him banned. Your report won't do anything other than raise a potential issue to investigate. Other reports may lend weight to the overall issue. And trying to be a vigilante, no matter how well intentioned is bound to backfire. It's not your place to do anything more than what you've done. And Valve isn't going to keep you in the loop, so let it go. They'll take whatever actions are appropriate according to their processes and schedule.
Also a lot of accounts used in scams have been hijacked. The original owner is probably trying to recover their account. And will have to live with any consequences that account accrues. VAC bans for games are common if the account has been used to cheat. Trade bans also occur if the account is actually used for that. The original owner has no recourse, and that's a pretty stiff punishment for carelessness with one's account.
This happens every day, you don't need to do anything to help outside of report and block.
In short: You're off the case Bobrovsky.
