Gmod mcafee users with Trojan error. See here for fix.
Hello. It is a false positive. Ignore it.
Trust me, i asked Gmod support. Either make an exception to the file, turn off real time scanning, or see here to restore the quarantined file:

If you have a question then ask.

FIX: Turn off real-time scanning. Open your McAfee Security product.
Click Navigation.
Click Quarantined and Trusted Items.
Open Quarantined Items (for individual files) or Quarantined Potentially Unwanted Programs (for programs).
Select specific items individually, or click Select all.
Select the action you want to perform (Delete, Restore, or Send to McAfee).

Then go back to real-time scanning and go to Excluded files, this can only be done when Real-time Scanning is on so be very quick, turn it on make and exception for hl2.exe which is the garry's mod launch file and boom, that's how playing Gmod now. Or wait 2-3 days for Mcafee to scan and process the sample with the "trojan" at their labs.

You'll have to set mcafee to trust this item.

Restore the quarantined file.Turn off real time scanning, then run a quick scan(SEE UPDATE BELOW). The scan should dectect the false trojan again. From there you should be able to set it as a trusted item.

UPDATE: Quick scan can't detect the trojan. Go to your steam folder then steamapps then common then Right click Garry's mod and click Scan with the little Mcafee symbol.

Will my subscription still work if it has expired?
Expired subscriptions will not receive updates and therefore will not protect you from new threats.

When your subscription expires, you will no longer be able to download new updates and virus definition files. You will still be able to use the product, but you will not be protected from threats newer than the last update before it expired. If your subscription has expired, or will expire soon, McAfee strongly recommends that you renew the license at http://home.mcafee.com

You will have to submit it to McAfee for approval first.

In order to submit it you will have to temporarily disable McAfee, procedures outlined here: https://community.mcafee.com/thread/2016

Go to the bottom of this page and click download: http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/termsofuse.aspx?url=http://downloadcenter.mcafee.com/products/mcafee-avert/getsusp/getsusp.exe

Once downloaded run it. Once its open click upload. Then go to steam, steamapps, common, Garry's mod then upload The gmod .exe which is hl2.exe
