Sorry, some kind of error has occurred: You've been posting too frequently, and can't make another post right now.
What is up with this?

I posted maybe 5 or 6 comments YESTERDAY, and it gave me this message. I tried to post only 2 comments today and I got it again. I'm clearly not a spammer and I am not spamming people at all, so why am I being punished for other people's spamming?!

5 comments is NOT spamming, have they tweaked the system to stop scammers so badly that they can't even let us non-scammers make comments now?

Seriously?

That's odd. It should only give you that error once you've hit the maximum amount of posts per day, which is 200 posts per day. And of course 5 isn't spamming, I've been making posts all day today, so I'm a bit confused why it's giving you this error.

You and me both. Is the 200 post limit applied only to friends?

The 5 or so comments I have made are not actually on my friends list, but most are members of my Steam group.

So am I not allowed to communicate with more than 1 non-friend listed person today? Only 5 people yesterday?

This prohibition just has no logical purpose to it and I am wondering if I have been wrongfully flagged by the system or something to that account.

I personally think it's an issue with the system, as I'm sure you know, just about everyone on Steam today has been experiencing issues of all different sorts. Ranging everywhere from not being able to edit their profiles and change avatars, all the way to having transactions from the Steam Store failing and cancelling on them. It's most likely just a small bug and will be fixed in a few days if not tomorrow.

If you feel wronged, you do have rights you can exercise.

Please refrain from responding to my threads with your ridiculous and irrelevant drivel. I see your replies as nothing more than some form of passive aggressive trolling.

This is the Help & Tips forum. If you post here, then one is to assume you're looking for help or tips.

If you think you have been wrongfully flagged, you have the privilege under the SSA to pursue action as outlined here: http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/

Thank you for stating the OBVIOUS, now please kindly relent with your pointless replies.

You are clearly NOT trying to help me, you are trying to antagonize me.

Fellas, please. Before this gets out of hand, let's just cut this off before it escalates. Back to the original point of this thread, If you've only made 5 posts, within the past 2 days, and they're basically saying you've maxed out your posting limit, this is obviously a mistake on Steam's end. I recommend you contact Steam Support and they will get this sorted out.

Thanks for trying to help. Sadly Steam support has shown me in the past, that they prefer sending me cut and paste replies that prove that they have not even read my ticket. As I stated in my other thread regarding the phone number security.

I understand this is not a direct link to Steam staff, but despite what the troll says above, I have seen staff reply to some of the threads on here. So I am simply trying this as a last resort.

The cut and paste replies are the auto-responses. Support is bogged down by more tickets than they can handle so turn-around time is usually a couple weeks right now. As long as you have a ticket open, you will receive a response from a Steam employee.

The "staff" that you see reply to threads are not Valve employees but volunteer moderators. They are not paid and are just regular users like you and I.

I am no longer even reading what you post to me.

I repeat... You've been reported for harassment and trolling. I have asked you multiple times to refrain from repeating the obvious to me over and over again. I have made it clear that I do not value your pointless replies and yet you continue to spam my all of my threads with them.

Well to be fair, he speaks the truth on that last post. Steam Support has to deal with hundreds of thousands of tickets a day. Allot of the Copy & Paste responses you allot of the time get, are posted the Support System itself which it just pulls an answer out of one of the many Support articles that Valve have laid down. But considering the fact that you said you made a very detailed ticket toSteam Support, and most likely it would be forced to be handled by a Valve Employee. There is still hope my friend, you just gotta have patience, as Valve is very limited with their Support Team and trying to rely on machines to help them with the majority. Just have patience, as I've always been told; You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it. I've had to wait all the way up to a month once before to get a response back from Steam Support regarding my account and it was from an actual Valve Employee, and might I add, the issue was resolved within the hour. Just it give it time, my man.

That is up to you, bud. If you don't want my help then suit yourself. I don't know what you're expecting, but there is no magic wand that someone can wave to fix your problems.

Either contact Support or wait it out.

Did I not make it clear already in the MULTIPLE posts in which I declined your "help" that I did not want your interpretation of "help" or are you just that obtuse? I cannot fathom that you are that ignorant so I can only perceive your actions as trolling/harassment..

Since you don't seem to have a grasp of the English language, or even remotely understand what I am saying to you, perhaps saying STFU would be a better way of letting you know?

Sadly, I will inevitably try contacting Steam Support again, despite the apparent futility of it. My unfortunate lack of hope for the Steam Support system is detailed in my other thread that this Nightenhelser person is trolling me on.

No matter if any of his posts speak any aspects of truth or not, it is the manor of his repeatedly stating the same things in an argumentative and harassing fashion that has deemed him a troll from my perspective.

I do thank you Doc for taking the time to politely and constructively try and come up with solutions or reasons for my issue.

Thanks

I also do agree with you that the problems with the comment limitations are likely due to the Steam server being buggy recently. I am guessing it's due to them preparing for the Winter Sale event perhaps.

If it continues to do this I'll have no choice but to contact them, even if it's an act of futility.

Take care!
