Game saves not showing up in Documents folder
I've had this issue for a while now, but I'm only just starting to realize how much of a ball ache it really is. Since updating to Windows 10, none of my installed games are saving information to my Documents folder. Typically I would have dozens of folders there for the games I've got installed, but nothing shows up now. I always keep a backup of that folder whenever I format my PC, so I manually moved the backup I had for The Binding of Isaac in to my Documents folder and the file was recognised by the game. But games that I've just installed aren't saving any data there. I'm trying to mod Fallout: New Vegas, which I recently bought and one mod requires me to modify a file located in the Documents folder, but obviously I can't do that with it not existing there.

After doing a bit of research this issue seems to be related to Windows 10 making folders read-only (which appears to be the case for the Documents folder). I've gone through the steps to try and allow users/everyone to have permission to change everything, but that hasn't worked. I turned off cloud saving for the game, but no local copy has shown up there yet.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue yet? At the very least is there an alternate location where I can find my New Vegas saves?

Just figured it out. Either Windows 10 or Steam has decided to save all the files from my Documents folder to the OneDrive equivalent. IT'S ALL IN THE CLOUD BEH BEH!

This can be closed now.
