left mouse button isnt registering all clicks in steamgames

I replaced my mouse a few weeks ago and since then my left mouse button doesnt work properly. (1 in every 15 clicks or so gets registered)
i tried using my old mouse and a brand-new other mouse but i keep having the same problem with all of them, even my touchpad doesnt react normally anymore in steamgames.(i use a laptop)

i dont have this problem when im not gaming or with ''league of legends'' or minecraft which are games i got outside of steam.

i run windows 8.1
i have this problem with ''metro 2033 redux'', ''PROTOTYPE'', ''bioshock'', ''dishonored'', ''assassins creed III'' and a few other games.

i dont think the driver is damaged or something because i only have this problem while playing games bought in steam. (all games/other software on my laptop is legit btw)

does someone know how to deal with this problem?

I have a similiar problem with my mouse. The mouse itself may not be totally compatable with your software. I had to call MicroSoft (my mouse) only to find that it isn't compatable even though your software says it is. Get in touch with the company that made your mouse to find whether it will work or not with your computer.

I hope they can solve my problem but i think it might be a different problem since the touchpad of my laptop isn't working properly either since i connected the new mouse for the first time. the touchpad and my old mouse used to work just fine before that :S
