Mobile authentication for trades
I don't have access to a device that will let me use the mobile authenticator. Does this mean that i will be unable to trade? Are there any workarounds to this, i.e. using email trade confirmation instead of mobile confirmation for trade

You can trade but you'll have a 3 day wait period before you can proceed with it.

No you can still trade. It just means when you trade with another user, all items will be held for 3 days by Steam before send.

^ + And with users you've been friends with more than 365 days, it's only 1 day.

By getting the authenticator (on both sides) yes. But not otherwise.

thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

It's for better security, and in my personal opinion, I feel like it's a good idea.

It's just like the email confirmation thing, it turns out to be extremely useful. And this new thing with Steam Guard I think is a good idea. A bit of a hassle, but it's worth the protection.

No, if people could opt out the whole purpose would be utterly defeated. It's being added for everyone because if they could simply just opt out of it, everyone would probably be doing that right now.

Yes, after the mobile app has been activated you have to wait 7 days. After that you wont have a 3 day delay in trades. ( Of course, only if the other user you trade with has it activated too.)

Also, canceling a trade gives you a 7 day trade cooldown from now on. So be careful about that too.
You can still deny trade requests but do not cancel a running trade.
