Steam Guard mobile authorization is activated and my trades are still on hold?
Hi.

I followed the guide and activated the mobile authorization on my Android.
I have also enabled confirmations of trades on my account settings.

I'm still getting "Trade will be held for: 72 hours" Why?
I've confirmed with some users that they have it activated so the problem must be on my side.

My message says "Hartmann has not been using the Mobile Authenticator for 7 days or has turned off trade confirmations", does that mean I have to wait 7 days?!? So is everyone in the same position of having to wait this long?

Thanks and regards

Yes, you need to use the auth for at least 7 days.
Or you use it like I do since more than 14 days and still get that message.

When did you activate the mobile app guard thing?
Take that date and time and add 7 days and you got the date you want.
Until then it is 3 days hold or 1 day hold if you are friends with the guy for more then 1 year.

Thanks for the reply

I just activated it today. Didn't see any guide or FAQ about it before.
Anything I can do now? Don't want to wait 72 hours for a trade!

No, you can't do anything.
If you cancel the trade, you get another 7 days ban.

Thanks for the replies.

One last question:

Can I turn off the Android APP thing for the codes and use email instead?

There's an option to send them by email. I just want to know if the privileges are the same or if I lose anything by doing it by email?

Thanks

you will have a 3 day hold if you don't use your mobile.

Even with email confirmation, you will have a 3 day hold.

I traded some items today that appeared instantly in my inventory after I accepted the trade

Well, maybe I was a bit vague. You can use the email confirmation for the trade, but need to use the mobile auth to log in.

He's talking about having turned on the trade confirmations I think, not using the email to confirm the trade.

I bought a few items this week with the phone, but I had to wait 7 day :)

But even with confirmations turned on it takes three days unless you use the mobile auth.

"If a user trading away items hasn't had their account protected by a Mobile Authenticator for the past 7 days or has turned off trade confirmations, item delivery will be delayed by Steam for up to 3 days"
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8078-TPHC-6195&auth=43ec81a6c20ed06dd10fa46719820a21

So if you do not use the mobile auth and get your auth codes via email, you have a 3 days hold.

Naturally. The point being that *both* requirements need to be met.

Right now Steam is asking for the APP code each time I connect on another computer or network. I don't like using my phone and APPs so much, would prefer the email if there is nothing I lose by doing it.
