The 360 controller works flawlessly for me in all types of games. In fact, most games are optimised to work specifically with the xbox controller layout. It detects the controller automatically and off you go. The forcefeedback works great too.
In 3rd person games or FPS games like COD and Battlefield it's no different to how the controller works with the xbox console. fluid and precise movement is no problem.
In racing games it is absolutely amazing. I mostly play racing sims like Formula 1. And on the hardest difficulty with no driving aids. Nothing beats the xbox controller's thumbsticks / triggers in my opinion!
I've had success with some old games, but most of the ones I have were originally for console, so they obviously work fine. If you ever find a game that it wont work with, you can always use some controller mapping software. Then you can for example, set the left thumbstick to WASD.
If you still want more info, a quick google search will come up with a heap of discussions about this, even some videos.
Xbox 360 has good quality, had one for years and only slight wear on the thumbstick. Even better than my xbox one whose thumbstick got loose on Call of Duty sprinting in just 2 weeks. (No warranty for physical damage they said)
The fact that the wireless reciever can connect 4 controllers at the same time totally sold me on the Xbox 360 controller, as I have other 360 controllers that can be used for some epic couch co-op (or Deathmatch =P)
It is indeed true the Xbox 360 pad is miles ahead when it comes to comfort and compability.
So far I'm loving it....
Thanks again!!! =D
