1. Exit steam completely. 2. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam 3. Delete appcache directory. 4. Login to Steam and play.
YES

i did not have anything called appcache directory, but i deleted a folder called appcache and it actually seems like it was gonna work. I downloaded the update for way longer than last time but it are saying the same now

Try doing this then.

- uninstal anti-virus apps that may cause issues with Steam.
- ensure you have full permissions allowed for editing of the /csgo directory
- running steam as administrator
- reinstall the game after all of the above

If that fails as well, then this is what I can offer.

1) Download the game until it fails or pauses (corrupt update file/corrupt download/or simply stops) 2) Goto Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Download Region Change the Download region to something else (anything just a new location/new server) 3) Force steam to continue downloading/installing/updating by either attempting to launch the game (this should bring up the 'Ready to launch in xxxx' timer) --- Or right click on the game you're having issues with and select Manage download and click the Resume/Update/Queue or whatever to force it along.

I got the error and none of the mention above work for me, error keeps popping up :p
It's the new patch. I've done everything under the sun, including, changing and removing files, clearing game caches, re-installing Csgo AND steam as a whole. Valve ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their game and made it unplayable for a ton of people. We just have to wait until they fix it.

this is happening with Fallout and a few other games as of yesterday as well... this is why i cant stand Steam or 3rd party apps. I get some time off to play and post patch issues, etc...

Try opening Steam as administrator, that worked for me :)
