Not Enough Disk Space on a 61 gb download with 1 gb left to go
With my internet it takes me 1.5 days to download a 60 gb game. I had fallout 76 downloading for pretty much a day and a half straight, there was about 45 minutes left on the download which is about over 1 gb, but i had to leave to go camping and turned my pc off.

Usually the download saves its progress, like with every other download ive ever downloaded with this crap internet, except when i got home, it is showing that there is not enough disk space to complete the download and the download is at 0 of 60 gb.

I had to delete a few games to make space for downloading fallout 76, so it appears steam downloaded 59 gb/ 60gb worth of fo76 content, and is now holding the space and not recognising that its already downloaded all that content and is requiring me to free up another 60 gb just to download the remaining gb, or it completly stole 59 gb, and has restarted my dl from 0.

What the hell!

Is there anyway to fix this so i dont have to restart the enitre download again and waste another day and a half just downloading this game?

Thanks!

You need about 10 GB of free space for your HDD to be operational.

unfinished downloads are in your downloading folder before they are extracted to your common folder, check to see if files are in there, delete and try download again

at times ive used my hdd with only 1gb or even as little as 400 MB free and no issues as far as i could tell

Sure, DOS games and such will run, they do not need a lot of operational space.... When an update comes that is bigger than the remaining space, there will be problems, as such it is better to have more than enough room.

theres 67gb worth of fo76 content in the download folder, all the stuff my computer downloaded before i shut it off, i repaired my steam library and it is downloading again but has restarted the entire download.

Can i not get stream to recognise that it already has all the files downloaded in the download folder and redirect steam to continue downloading the rest of these files? I dont understand why all this content is already downloaded and in the folder but steam is restarting the download from 0
you can get steam to recognize files already extracted, idk about files that are downloaded but not extracted

maybe if someone else knows more

you turned off your pc before steam had a chance to extract them so its like its erasing them (it cant save progress it doesnt have)

Nothing i can do, steam completely restarted my 59/60 gb download and ill spend another day and a half re downloading files.

Absolutely atrocious considering there are older downloads waiting in queue that are saved lol.
