2) There is a restore function, in case you delete teh wrong game, or if hijackers delete them out of spite
3) So far I don't see any evidence that deleting a game removes any achievements or such. So any achievement hunters tyring to get their 100% by removing games will likely be disappointed
4) if you were 'hacked before' maybe you should exercise more caution ratehr than worrying about them deleting your games
Nothing useful, really. Some people just don't want clutter on their profile.
Or maybe some people are being laughed at for having 500 hours in Sakura Spirit.
EDIT - I forgot, if you have a game that's only playable in another country, it could be useful to delete it so you can buy again from your country.
Who the hell knows
The only 'semi-not-so-much' reason is when a person activates a game that's not in their region via a VPN, then magically realizes that the game doesn't work outside of that region. So essentially they broke the rules, then got caught, then wanted an out. Thats the only real 'kinda' legit reason
The overwhelming majority of requests fall into
"OMG I HATE THIS GAME" - despite the fact thatyou can now simply hide games from your library if its THAT offensive
"OMG I NEEDZ 100% CHEEVOZ!!" - Because apparently now 100% means "100% that I can do without doing the actual work to get 100%". Note that deleting a game does not remove the achievements as far as I can tell
There are some free games I like to 'try out". If I don't like some of those games, it would be great to be able to get rid of them... period.
But again iyou can just hide games in your library. Why delete them at all? Just hide it and presto you're done.
You can 'remove clutter' by simply hiding such games
You could already remove free games from your library before anyway

Find game. Click REmove. Done
I will support the idea that Steam should increase security for it however. I've tested it out on some games. I put a game in checkout that I deleted and steam didn't warn me that I own it (but deleted it.) This is unethical in my opinion. The option to restore exists which means there is still a record that you bought it. Steam should never profit off of you buying a game twice on one account without warning you.
The point being there are existing tools to address the necessity of 'deleting' games. Most reasons for deleting games are utterly uncompelling given the existing tools Steam has.
While its nice they allow it, I'm not super convinced it was necessary or whether 'game deletion hacking' is going to be a big problem with respects to account hijacks simply as a pure trolling mechansim. Given that existing tools pretty much addressed most issues, I'm wondereing why they bothered with an automated process to delete games,e ven if there is a recovery mechanism built in.
Many have already stated their reasons for wanting this. Personally, I wanted to delete two games that someone played on my account and had so many hours that they were my top three played games. It seriously bothered me. I was attempting to farm hours in games I wanted by leaving them running 24/7 but my number 1 played game had 1,500 hours. That would have taken so long to get three games above that
I was psyched to delete them today.
To each their own I say. One has a right to one's personal preferences, and people shouldn't be forced to justify their personal preferences in the first place.
EDIT: Okay people aren't 'forced'... I get that.
How long does this restore option last for, and if in case someone were able to gain access to a user account, is there a limit to how many game can be restore, or to delete. Pretty much what I'm asking is there is any security protocol behind this? Because i'm not seeing any at all.
