Steam Freezes Computer Entirely.
So whenever I download a large game from steam, it will most of the time cause my computer to lock up completely. I have to do a hard restart on my computer to get it working again.

I have some ideas, but no clear answer. From HDD errors, to reinstalling steam. I've tried reinstalling steam, I've reinstalled windows, and my drivers are up to date.

Could be your AntiVirus product or Firewall product causing the problems.

Try uninstalling your AntiVirus first and switching to VIPRE AntiVirus instead (never screws with Steam).

It was "is" a bad hard drive, after looking at other threads and testing a bunch of stuff. When the disk writes long enough with a game or download it freezes. Thanks though.
