Adding Friends/Playing Portal 2

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to steam and a friend bought Portal 2 for both my sister and I, neither of us have spend any money on steam. I want to add my sister, and I know you can't add people without spending a specified amount of money on steam; however, my brother managed to add both of us without spending any money. Is there a way I can add her?

And if that doesn't work, is there anyway I can end up playing co-op with her in Portal 2 at least? I've tried connecting to a random stranger at the same time as her, but everytime we get matched I time out, is there a way to fix that?

One of you will need to spend $5 USD or equivalent to add the other, two limited users cannot add each other.

i dont know how your brother did it, a limited account shouldnt be able to add other users. you must spend 5 dollars USD either by a game purchase or steam wallet

I assume english isn't your first langauge, but if you are asking why you cant add any friends, that's because you currently have a limited account

Yes I have tried adding her. Just said that "her friends list is full" even though it isn't.

I know! I would have given up earlier but I was so confused as to how my brother was able to do it.
