iCloud keychain code?

I linked my phone number to my Steam account some weeks ago. In order to confirm such process I got a SMS from this service number "27439", in English.

Two days ago I received from said number above a text message, in my native language, saying "The verification code for your iCloud keychain is: ..."

Ten minutes later I receive another, same text, different verification code.
I never requested such information, and I have no recent emails about such process.

Why did I get this? Did someone tried to get into my account or do Steam randomly sent it, just because? What's the iCloud keychain for?

The text you received and the number it was sent from isn't from Steam itself, they use third party SMS sending services, so the number may change and you may get texts from multiple places using the same number.

When i linked my number to Steam, it was the same text message that Microsoft used for their Windows accounts!

It could be that someone has entered your phone number by mistake into their Apple profile, realised their mistake and amended it and is now happily using their iCloud keychain!

This I know and understand, but since Steam uses Cloud I was wondering this.

It's another service that requires you to authorise a SMS message so it's expected it would send messages, but it's defiantly nothing to do with Steam.
