Help! Deleted Fallout 4 Save
This might be futile but I figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

Like an idiot, I deleted all of my Fallout 4 saves 100+ hours in. After hearing of cases of corrupt saves I decided to keep several in case one became corrupted. I ran out of space for them and in haste, I deleted them all. Stupid mistake.

Immediately after, I used the data recovery tool Recuva to restore them. This seemed to work as it recovered the saves, but upon attempting to load them I discovered they were all corrupt.

So I suppose my question is: are there any methods out there to fix corrupted saves, especially in the case of previously deleted ones?

Thanks

Fallout 4 doesn't use Steam Cloud?

Since I deleted the saves in game I believe the saves in my steam cloud were deleted as well. Steam cloud lists 279 MB stored, matching the 278 MB of corrupted saves in my fallout 4 saves folder.

You could delete your local save files. Try running FO4 and then you should get a message saying about Steam cloud, telling you that they are unsynched. Try downloading the files from Steam Cloud.
If that doesn't work you could always try to use the console to reset your character to exactly where you were. Level, perks, quests complete. etc.

Or just start a new game.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm doomed to using the console to match my progress as best I can, unless there's a way to "uncorrupt" these files.

If there was, I'd recommend checking the game hubs for them.

There's threads like this, but they surely won't apply to your situation:

Yeah, I actually had the same problem as in your second link (ran out of space). This led to me basically mashing delete > enter to get rid of all my old saves. I didn't realize when I got to my current save and deleted it. Really stupid mistake in hindsight

Hopefully you won't do it again.
If you ran out of space because of save files, either you had about 500 saves or you need to get a bigger HD.

Remove the broken local files, to let the cloud notify you that your local files dont match cloud.
Then load from cloud.
