Buying 4 Pack Games

I own the game Insurgency and i like it,so i tried to Buy the 4 Pack offer and send it to 4 of my Friends,but it wont let me because i already own game....This does not make sence,as if you haven't tried out the game why would you get the 4 Pack....Anyway Steam has lost out on a 4 Pack sale due to this. I hope Steam looks into Chancin this, as it is a Win Win for everyone.

Basically, you cannot purchase a 4 pack as a gift. You also cannot buy a game you already own. So if you want to buy a 4 pack, you need to not already own the game.

Yes i know this as i stated in my orginal Post....Was more interested in WHY???

Speculatively, because 4-packs are cheaper than buying 4 copies of a game, so to avoid losing money. 4 packs generally only exist for games which require multiple people to play, the 4 pack thus ensures at least 3 other people will be playing.

Really....And please don't put Me in that kinda thinkin....and a limit of 1 purchase of a 4 Pack to send to Friends could be checked by Steam would be simple....and anyone caught Abusin it could be Removed.....As Scum like that shouldn't be here at Steam anyway....call it a WeedinOut!!!....Thanks for the Replies....Discussions are a GoodThang!!!

You could always ask Steam support to remove your current license, then buy the 4 pack.

Start a new acct. purchase it and gift it to yourself.

Then why can't Steam Support just check that games are sent to Friends on my list....Just Sayin

You could even just buy the four pack on one of your friends accounts (which if they are your friends shouldn't be too difficult to arrange) or if geographically separated reimburse one of your friends so he can buy it for the rest.
