phone number for Steam?

Well i tried and didnt work, dont think it work on landline and infact i am hearing impaired. Had to get a friend to do it, is there a way around this? She had a cell phone and believe i tried this on Blizzard's World of Warcraft and didnt work either. So just wanted to know do i really need this? Of course i dont want my account hacked, but i have my limit what i can do with my handicap here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're asking about the prompt to add a phone to your account, right?

It has to be a cell phone, yes, but the messages will only come in SMS (text) format. No need to worry about your "mis"ability. And if you don't have a cell, you can pick up a cheap pre-paid feature phone for something around $10-20.

Especially because you are impaired and don't own a mobile, this is an unnecessary hassle.

Even if you were to lose either e-mail or password, there are other ways to regain access.

Most hearing impaired or deaf people have cell phones. Widespread adoption of text messaging was a godsend for that community.
