my game keeps taking screenshots

when i log in to a game it takes screenshot after sceenshot please help i have 5000+ in 30 sekunds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

disable steam cloud, NOTE that this will not allow workshop content or auto updates. Or you can set the snapshotkey to another key and see f its the key thats at fault

I'm having this problem now too. You can see it counting the screenshots in the Steam library, it gives me thousands of screenshots in only a matter of seconds, but the actual folder isn't filling with any more pictures. It just loops over and over over the last bunch of screenshots taken.

I haven't been able to find a solution yet either, sorry.

Please be specific about what game you're having this problem in, new poster on very old thread.

Has this just started happening in a game that has been normal before now? Did your operating system or any drivers change, or any hardware change between then and now?

Or is this a new game that you have not yet played, with this problem?

Check your keyboard, and the drivers for your hardware first. Unplug and replug any wired items like a keyboard usb or its wireless dongle. Verify your game files. Close steam, restart your computer and restart steam.

maybe the F12 key is stuck or you keep accidentally pressing F12

Try steam settings, then in-gane and change it to something you dont hit or other app dont know about. ( im sure you can make shift + F12 ) that is a 2hand cordination and should be impossible to make by mistake or you have macro that do it.

I just had to reinstall Steam and when I did I encountered this problem. Every time I pressed a key, it took another screenshot.

The way I fixed it was by going into the settings and explicitly setting a key binding for screenshots using a key I never press. For some reason the "None" key binding broke it.
