1 gig internet.. does steam cap?
I have 1 gig internet and was excided to test it out on steam.. speedtest.net shows i am doing every bit of 980Mb/s... so i was wantering, the fastest i can get on steam is 500Mb/s (50MB/s). Anyone have this issue?

it is said 1GB but in real it is 100mb . my is said 1gb but I have 7/8 MB/s download .

in other hand he might use business internet which is faster then home internet.


and to answer the question each country have limited bandwidth it is depend where you live .

you have a 1000megabit per second connection. Steam measures download rate in megabytes.

yes i under stand all of that. I know exactly the difference in Bits and Bytes... just wanted to know if steam had a cap on how fast they would send data to you. on steam, like i said originally, i generally download at 50-55 Megabytes persecond. (There are 8 bits in a byte)

and its not business internet. several ISP's in america are introducing gig intenet.

50megabyte/s is the opposite of an issue.

have any idea witch region has better download speeds? i have been changin my download regions to test the theory.

They all have enough speed to send many users data at the same time.
If you dont get more, maybe you should see that you get 50 megabyte per second.
And stop seeing that as an issue.
