Thank You Poly
It's September 2019 and Microsoft still hasn't got around fix the issue with first gen adapter
GG Microsoft
I used the following driver and i got it to work:
Xbox - Net - 7/11/2017 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.46.1 - Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Later Servicing Drivers,Windows 10 S and Later Servicing Drivers - 7/11/2017 - 1.0.46.1 - 217 KB
Good job to Microsoft for messing up auto driver install between a Microsoft adapter and a Microsoft operating system... :|
My Xbox One cotroller was connected to my PC with Xbox Wireless adapter.
But from this morning i cant connect my controller with my PC. I tried #1 post solutions and i tried all solutions i could find on internet and yt but nothing. Reinstalling device, rebooting pc, updating adapter drivers. NOTHING.
When i tried xbox wireless adapter on laptop. It worked LOL. Downloaded automaticly drivers and it synced in second.
But on my PC, controller is just blinking fast and it wont sync. WHAT should i do? I cant use usb cable in games cause it keeps disconecting.
So i dont have Xbox ACC in my device manager, so drivers look fine, but i cant sync controller anyway.
Have you read the comment above yours? that might be your solution
I also uncheck usb power to go to sleep.
Its really annoying especially cause on laptop working as charm (both adapter and controller).
The Adapter works fine with Windows 1809, but Windows 1903 wont let the Adapter sync with the Controller. Ive contacted the support like 20 times now and literally nobody knows, whats going on.
Ive tried manual and auto installation of the drivers, nothing will help. And probably all the of the solutions of this Guide and its 25 pages. Im quiet desperate and about to rollback to 1809...
The Ms Elite Controler (original or Serie 2) works fine with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, the driver is automaticaly updated and its ok, no problem at all in games since april 2019
But recently the problem arrives when I tried to connect a microheadset (classic headphones with a mike) on the controler WHEN the controler is linked to the PC via the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
The controler and the microheadset starts to work fine (voice on the mike and sound on the headphones), but after 3 minutes (around exactly 3mn 30sec) the PC crash ( with a BSoD classic memory error violation) and reboots !
This occurs :
- only WHEN a microheadphones (microcasque in french) is connected directly to the controler AND WHEN the controler is linked to the PC via the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
(The crash occurs even when I do nothing else with the PC, just starts the controler with the microhedphones connected to the Elite controler, on the Windows desktop for instance).
If there NO microheadphones connected to the Elite controler (when the controler is linked to the pc via the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows), the controler works fine and the pc also, with absolutly no crash during many hours.
If I do not use the Wireless Adapter for Windows, and that I connect directly the Elite Controler via a USB cable to the PC, I can plug the headphones on the Elite Controler and the PC never crash !
So the problem is only (after 3mn) when the Wireless Adapter for Windows is used for the Elite Controler, and when the headphones is pluged/connected on the Elite Controler.
Of course, I have tried different headsets/headphones (different models, from Xbox microheadset, to PS ones, to classic telephone/iPhone ones, and so on...) : same problem !
Of course, I have also tried with different Controlers, Elite (first or Serie 2 models) : same problem !
The Accesory Xbos app on Windows 10 runs ok, and see the Elite controler with no problem, even when it is used coonected via the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
(I have also updated the Elite controler with its accesories conected on it, (it means 1) the stereo headset adapter, 2) the microheadphones), as it is said on the Ms support page for installing newfirmware on the Elite controler : the accessories need to be plugged on the controler when you upgrade the controler firmware.
And the app have seen that the microheadset and adapter are connected on it.
And of course the firmware is successfully installed, and ok today, no new version)
I have contacted also Ms Windows support, and Xbox support : they even tried to send back the problem to Xbox support (because it is called an "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows"), and of course the Xbox support said non, it is an "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows" and it is used on a Windows 10 PC so, it is a Windows support problem to deal with.
I have been more than 3 hours today again with the Windows support, and they can't find a solution to my problem : they say that the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is correctly installed, the driver is ok, Windows10 see the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, and says that there is no problem in the configuration.
And do not understand why the PC is crashing when the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is used only with an headset plugged on/in the Elite controler.
The Windows support said that it is a problem of incompatibility with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and my PC !
Why ?
with which part of my PC ?
They did not known (after of course having inspected my pc online, they said everything is fine).
So I can't used my Elite controler with an headset on it when it is connected to my PC via the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
Not very good at all...
Any ideas ?
Also you can check Event Viewer in Windows 10 (Administrative tools) - there are a lot of logs, maybe there is some info about the problem that Microsoft support could help.
I kept trying and trying until I held down the "sync" button on the top of the controller while it was trying to sync. Then I pressed the XBox button and for whatever reason, it successfully synced.
Maybe this standard procedure on an actual XBox, but I only have a PC so I haven't ever used it with an actual console. I hope this helps someone, especially if you're like me and have only ever used it with a PC!
That did it for me, thanks a bunch!
