Steam client slower then ever, can't access community at all, having to post via browser.

Steam has really decided to crap itself on my PC. all I can do in Steam client now is access my library. I have to login via web browser to access store or community pages. If I try in to access community in Steam client, after 10 mins of "Loading" I get a message about steam needing me to log in again. I log in again and another 10 mins of "Loading" occurs and asks me to log in AGAIN!!!! Yet I can get in quick in web browser. Also 5 out of 10 times if I open steam client and click anywhere on said client it goes white followed by

"Steam Client Bootstrapper has Stopped Working"

What is going on here Valve?!

Also, Steam community members from Australia is this happening to you too?

Assistance would be appreciated, I still have not had one reply from Steam support and this issue is perpetually worsening and I am concerned that soon the client won't start AT ALL and I won't be able to access my near 600 games on Steam.

It seems Valve simply doesn't care about it's customers to not even reply to a long standing ticket about the Steam Client not functioning properly, not even once!

EDIT: I have already done full system scans with Malwarebytes Premium and Baidu AV in safe mode (took 4eva to do 2 scans of over 10Tb of data) No viruses, adware, malware or other P.U.P.'s found.

Also flushing steam config and deleting all but STEAMAPPS folder and steam.exe doesn't help.

A lot of people are having the same issues with steam right now, so it's not a problem on your end. It would be nice however to have a word from Valve about what the hell is going on, anything really... but you know Valve, they're not quite the talkers.

Aparently they are doing some heavy maintinence right now so it's best to wait it out. There is one thing you can try is disabling the auto proxy in your intenet settings that seems to speed up steam although it's not working for a lot of people right now

It's been useless and terrible for a month now... 90% of the time I can't add stuff to wishlists, see the community, etc... Every time I load up Steam via the web-browser I have to reauthorise it... It's just GREAT... 2013 Summer Sale great when their entire service went down for the final two days...

Don't expect them to even reply, they have a habit of ignoring problems because they know you don't have a choice... Look at the amount of people suing them in the USA and Canada, it's easier for them to settle out of court for the small amount of people who get that far than it is for them to actually fix anything....

Half the problem for Australia is they are using a cheap arse server farm which is stupidly oversubscribed right now (as some people are running VPNs through it thanks to our stupid new laws) but fixing that would cost them more than nothing so it will never happen...

It's been acting really slow for me the past 2 days as well. Steam Client is asking me to log in even though I'm already logged in. Community isn't working & store pages load very slowly.

It also goes through stages of when you try to look at your inventory, badges, etc that it comes up "this profile is private" and you can't see anything (again related to the "you're not logged in" stuff I assume).

Same issue for me, idk what it could be that is causing it, could it be the crimefest activity and phishers targeting skin collectors? Or the fallout 4 problems? Is steam getting ddos'd? I have many friends who have no issue with this, or steam at all in loading programs or services, but those with payday 2 and players with pre-orders are suffering it seems. Am i being targeted? Is this effecting my profile? Ive been a supporter of steam for 4 years now, and dedicate a lot of time and energy into steam and my growth, now this feels threatened. 3 sign in pages ive had to do today, and one email verification was needed. Takes me half an hour it seems, followed by error 97.

It's been an issue here for over a month though so I guess that's a big welcome rest of the world then. A lot of it maybe to do with Steam just running everything on the cheap and not being able to handle the current load. They seem to run on the minimal number of servers then get shocked and panic when it's overloaded and have no solution or plan on what to do. Same with DDOS attacks... Most companies have plans in place to easily avoid the situation and get people working again but Steam don't seem to care :(

Same here. The problem seems to be that even when we are logged in, the system for whatever reason thinks we are not. That affects the inventory, wishlist, posting, etc.
I hope they fix this ASAP. It´s really annoying.

im new to steam and not liking my first impression of how they work. im tryin to pre order a game bundle "rpg maker mv" that drops and end bundle in less then 12 hours but everytime i try and purchase it, it just says unexpected error contact steam support so here i am yet no replies. worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ timing EVER, wish they would get this ♥♥♥♥ working......please.

Disabling auto-proxy made no difference for me. :'(

i have the same problem, when i go in to store it says im not conceited so i need to relog even though im but even after i relog everything takes forever to log on. anybody knows why is this like that?

I have a similar problem but I tried to log in on another machine and browser, store, community etc worked fine. If I click on store on my machine need to wait 20-30 seconds before the page loads and then it works as normal, I can search games click through to them etc and response is snappy. It seems like it is having trouble making new connections. I have tried changing my internet settings and also my DNS settings, reinstalling steam, nothing has helped. My normal browsers do not have an issue and load pages and new tabs instantly. I have a very stable fast cable internet connection and can download games at ~4MB/s
