Downloads slow down at 99% till they get to 0 KB/S! HELP!

so i got my new laptop recently and when i did i downloaded steam. I started downloading my favourite game (Smite don't judge me) and it was downloading at my normal internet speed, which is quite low since i have so many PC's in my house.(around 700 KB/s) i know its slow. and i was downloading it normally till it got to 99% where it started to drop down quite drastically. it kept dropping down till it got to 0 bytes/s , and thats when it queued. then in a minute it would go again slowly, then queue again etc.

everything seems to be fine on my brothers laptop where games download and don't slow down at all! (by the way we don't download the games at the same time)

is it something to do with my laptop or steam?

(oh yeah i recently upgraded to windows 10)

my old laptop was fine with downloading games but for some reason my new one isn't.

ive tried re-installing steam completely.

ive been dying to play this game!

check the graph as a lot of times the game is writing the patches out. You'll see that as a green line of writing. If tis doing that then just wait it out as its writing out files instead of downloading.

its ok it turns out it was just my internet because when i went to my cousins house they have better internet and everything was working fine
