Hey I was hoping to get some help. I bought a game at a retail store but Steam doesn't accept the authentication key because it isn't on the list. What do I do?

Install it (not in to Steam), update it manually and play it?

follow the instruction that came with it. Generally, put the media in the drive and install just like any other software... then search the dev/pub pages on the Internet for any updates that will be needed...

i have but it says setup.exe with the Steam icon and there is no other setup

if the key isn't accepted on Steam, you will have to run the .exe to install it.

Everytime i enter the code it comes up with a message saying its a duplicate code. I've changed the code twice from the supplier but i always get the same thing.Ive run out of things to do.

maybe your supplier lied to you?or maybe you just unlucky person

duplicate means it has already been used. Sounds like you are buying used games or dealing with a scam website...
